The Center's program schedule changes seasonally. Click here to see our Spring 2008 program schedule. Our programs serve people
of all ages and backgrounds in the neighborhood. As the needs of the community
changes, so do our programs. Our most recent addition, Partners for Progress, is a collaboration
with several area non-profits. This family literacy program allows parents to work towards their GED
while their pre-school children receive educational child care.
Our current programs are:
- After School Program: Eighty children in kindergarten through eighth grades enjoy a variety of activities. A light snack and homework help are provided. Enrichment activities include:

- Clothing Ministry: Essentials and toiletries are given out every Friday 8:00-9:30. Clothing and smaller household items are given out on the third Saturday of every month. • Sat. 11:00-2:00
- Family Activity Night: At least once per month, families are invited to the Center for an evening of dinner and family activity. • 6:00-8:00
- GED—Seeds of Literacy: An adult literacy program helping participants reach educational goals through improving basic skills. GED preparation offered. Childcare is available. • Mon. & Wed. 6:00-7:30 pm
- Hope for Today: AA Big Book discussion meeting. • Thurs. 8:00-9:00am
- Health Clinic: Care Alliance sponsors a free clinic that meets on the first and third Monday Night of every month. • Mon. 6:30-8:00 pm
- Help Our People Excel
For youth, by youth. Students working
together for their community. Starting
April 12th, every other week.. • Sat. 11:00am-1:00pm
- Hope for Today
AA Big Book discussion meeting.
• Thurs. 8:00-9:00am
- Job Coaching: Learn job search and interviewing skills. • Thurs. 6:00-7:30pm
- Leadership Academy: High school students receive tutoring and team building workshops, then they help the After School Program by tutoring youth. • Wed. 6:00-7:30pm
- Live Your Best Life: Community support group for women. Helps build new social networks and increase self esteem. • Fri. 12:30-2:00 1st & 3rd of month
- Partners for Progress:
Give your family an even start with GED
instruction, child care, job coaching, group
counseling, field trips, family literacy, career
instruction and other support services.
• Mon.-Wed. 10:00-2:00
- Shower Program: Clean public shower facility for men and women. Towels and toiletries provided. • Weekdays 7:30 am until 10:00 am.
- Sewing with Friends: An adult sewing class that teaches the basics of sewing. • Fri. 10:00-2:00 2nd & 4th of month
- Soup With God: Community support group for men in transition. Helps build new social networks and increase self-esteem. • Fri. 12:30-2:00 2nd & 4th of month
- Young Teen Alliance: Special program for middle school students, where they learn about leadership skills, are trained to be peer tutors to primary grade students, and plan service projects for the wider community. • Mon.-Fri. 3:00-6:00 pm
