Malachi Mart acts as a year round fundraiser for St. Malachi Center and provides a place for area residents to receive job training and skill development. By providing job experience and mentoring, we help area residents develop marketable skills, enahcne their resume, and increase their chances of finding gainful employment.
St. Malachi Center's Steps to Success program provided a detailed curriculum which heavily utilized Malachi Mart as a site for jbo readiness training. Participants learned employer expectations and received weekly performance ratings, giving them an opportunity to earn incentives. Work skills learned included: handling inventory, merchandise pricing, stocking, customer service, loss prevention, safety, cash handling, and merchandising.
In addition to St. Malachi Center, the Mart also collaborates with AARP Senior Employment Program, Employment Alliance, Positive Education Program (PEP), Cleveland Municipal School District's Vocational Education Department, and Cuyahoga County's Work Experience Program (WEP).
