Family Programs
When families grow together, everyone benefits!
Partners for Progress
Parents who have always wanted to get their GED can sign up for this eleven
week program. Adults must have a child ages 3-5 who can attend the program
with them; educational child care is provided. Other benefits include
bus passes, lunch, First Aid and CPR training, parents as teachers program,
and much more! St. Malachi Center has teamed up with Seeds of Literacy,
CMHA, St. Malachi Church, Catholic Charities' Parent-Child Program,
Cleveland Reads, and Lutheran Children's Aid & Family Services. Our pilot
program started February 28, 2006.
Family Activity Night
Join us for dinner and a fun activity for the whole family. In January,
we shared food and experiences with our new neighbors from Liberia, as
well as Afro-Cuban Bada drumming. In February, we offered Heart Health
in honor of Valentine's Day.
Clothing Ministry
Essentials and toiletries are given out during the Shower Program every Friday.
Clothing and small household goods are given out the third Saturday of every month. Pre-registration is required.
Health Clinic
Care Alliance sponsors a free clinic that meets two Mondays each month, after the Monday night meal.
A physician and nurses are present.
Holiday Programs
Celebrate and strengthen your family's relationship with God. Every year,
we join with St. Malachi Church to share the special days we remember
God's love for us. The Seder Meal commemorates the Jewish Exodus from
Egypt, Posadas remembers the Holy Family's search for a warm bed in Bethlehem,
and of course we have the annual Easter Egg Hunt!
See our Spring 2008 program schedule for our
seasonal programs for adults and youth.
